Eye Spy® has recently acquired the most up-to-date dye sublimation equipment available. This now allows us to manufacture a large number of different products including FLAGS. Historically the production of flags has been a labour intensive, complex process - which means that customised flags have traditionally been quite expensive. With our new process, involving wide format printing of the dye-sublimation inks directly to a transfer paper we cut out labour intensive old processes - then it's into the cooker for the transfer process at over 200 degrees C. The end result is a product of high quality and durability - at a reasonable price.

Background Information:

There are three main ways to manufacture flags - Sewn/embroidered, Digitally printed, Dye sublimation.

Sewn/Embroidered - This is where the different coloured pieces are actually sewn onto the background material - normally high quality, colourfast and reasonably durable.

Digitally Printed - The specially manufactured flag material is printed directly with inks in a wide format printer - low quality, blurred edges to the graphics, colourfastness a problem, not suitable for extended outdoor use, best used for short term, or indoor use only. Cheapest option.

Dye Sublimated - The image is printed in reverse onto a transfer paper, which is then 'cooked' at high temperature causing the ink to sublimate (vapourise) and embed inside the fibres of the flag, The flag material is synthetic especially made for the purpose. The process results in a flag which is reasonably priced and the highly durable - suitable for use in any situation.
